PRODUCTS LIABILITY
This insurance covers loss or damage to property, death or bodily injury to third parties as a direct or indirect result of defective products.
The risk is influenced by factors such as the nature of goods produced, reputation of the insured, whether goods are primary or secondary, use of the products, degree of quality control, identity of the users, packing and labelling, total turnover with bifurcation for different countries, size and standing of the manufacturer, etc.
The policy also covers legal defence costs and products recalls but excludes contractual liability, replacement of goods, product failure to perform and faulty design/specifications.
