PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY
Professional indemnity cover provides indemnity to the insured against their legal liability to pay compensation as a result of any actual or alleged negligent act, error or omission in the performance of their professional duties. Included in the cover is legal costs relating to the defence or settlement of a claim.
Cover is provided on per limit of liability per claim or a series of claims and aggregate limit for a full period of insurance.
PI covers are given to professionals under regulatory bodies that define the parameters for professional work. These include Doctors, Quantity surveyors, Engineers, Estate Agents and valuers, Architects, Lawyers/Advocates, Accountants/Auditors and Hospitals (Excluding Clinical trials).
The policy can be extended to cover loss of documents, libel & slander and dishonest acts of any employee at an additional premium.
