CONTRACTORS’ PLANT AND MACHINERY (CPM)
CPM is an all risks insurance that provides coverage for the plant and machinery of a contractor used in the construction site against any unforeseen and sudden physical loss or damage that is not specifically excluded by the policy.
Scope of Cover
The cover is similar to the scope of Machinery Breakdown insurance but excludes internal breakdown, applies at work, at rest or during maintenance operations and is not limited to a specific construction site. Machinery covered include forklift trucks, bulldozers, compressors, drilling machines, etc.
These machinery are used under extremely rough conditions and are susceptible to breakdown due to damage which could stall the project and the policy provided the insured with peace of mind as he undertakes the project.
The sum insured is the new replacement value.
Extensions
- Third party liability to members of the public
- Liability for damage to Third party property arising out of the contractor’s negligence.
